The distillery A.H. Riise is located on St. Thomas Island, an American Virgin Island in the Caribbean. Before this island became an American territory, it was a Danish colony. Around the 1840s, the pharmacist Albert Heinrich was not only allowed to open a pharmacy but also to produce alcohol. King Haakon VII of Norway began his life as Prince Carl of Denmark. First he was in the Royal Danish Navy, which then took him into service on the frigate Jylland. This bottling is made by combining several rum distillates that are up to 20 years old. He spends his finish in ex-Pedro-Ximenez-Sherry barrels. Each bottle is bottled by the Master Distiller, is individually numbered and labelled with the date of bottling.Tasting notes:Colour: mahogany. Nose: spices.
