This collection is named after the largest former Glenmorangie department store built in the 19th century. This warehouse was the home town for the barrel ageing of the finest single malts until 1990. Due to the increasing demand and no possibility to extend the building, Warehouse No. 1 became a beautiful distillery building, also known as 'Glenmorangie Highland Cathedral'. The Glenmorangie Grand Vintage 1996 is a combination of whiskies that have been aged for 23 years in Bourbon casks. This Grand Vintage is the sixth release of the exclusive Bond House No. 1 Collection.Tasting notes:Colour: Amber. Nose: fresh, floral, roses, country carnations, jasmine, hints of coriander, mandarins, oranges, pears, candied fruit, vanilla. Flavour: complex, creamy, spicy, oranges, lemons, vanilla, caramel, ginger, sweet chilli, oak. Finish: Long lasting, after cake and almonds.
