This rum is made from sugar cane juice, in the distillery du Simon. This Special Reserve bottling belongs to the HSE series "Finitions du Monde", which includes various cask finishes. After a minimum of 3 years of traditional HSE maturation, this VSOP is aged for more than 8 months in 225 litre port casks. Thus, the subtle port wine aromas combine with the characteristics of an old Très Vieux Rhum from Martinique. Tasting notes:Colour: Amber. Nose: Delicate mocha, freshly roasted cocoa, blackberry jam, notes of cinnamon, dates, peaches. Taste: Soft, balanced, notes of figs, black fruits, honey. Finish: Long lasting.
