Jack Daniel's Tennessee Rye combines the distinctive taste of rye with Jack Daniel's signature 'Charcoal Mellowing' process - the filtering of the whiskey through charcoal made from sugar maple. For the first time in Jack Daniel's 150-year history, the distillery has tweaked the recipe of its classic Jack Daniel's Old No. 7 whiskey a little, refining it further with a higher proportion of rye. The result is a distinctive, spicy rye whiskey with a stronger taste and a mild finish. The spiciness of the rye was emphasized while leaving room for the complexity of the corn and barley malt. Jack Daniel's Tennessee Rye presents itself as a well-rounded rye whiskey with a mix of sweet caramel and dry spice notes, rounded out with a peppery rye character.
