The Scheiblhofer winery is a family business and cultivates a total vineyard area of 30 hectares. All of the grapes are processed on the estate's own premises and marketed exclusively in bottles. The winery is not only known for its Prädikat wines, but also for its top red wines "Big John". Johann Scheiblhofer achieved more than 300 gold medals at nationwide awards, thus he achieved the most awards nationwide. Awards: - Big John was salon winner in 2014 with vintage 2012. Tasting notes:Dense purple with ruby rims in the glass. Total fruitiness and scent of caramel, complex and multilayered, powerful tannins with rusty oak flair. Long lasting finish. Grape varieties: Zweigelt, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir. Aging: 12 months in new American barrique barrels. Drinking temperature: 16 °C. Residual sugar: 2,2 g/l. Acidity: 4,6 g/l. Storage potential: Until 2029. The red wine goes perfectly with dark meat, game and strong sauces.
